With their youngest turning one, the Irsik family met me for family pictures! There were lots of silly faces and giggles for their session, and we got some beautiful pictures of their family. Since two of the images are for their Christmas cards, I'll have to wait to share them!
Hadley was born a few weeks ago and I had been asked by her mother who is also a very dear friend to capture the birth of her and her husband's fourth baby. Maegan labored for nearly 24 hours, spending most of the day at home, then at work to finish up a few things, then back home again. Because Maegan had decided to have her baby naturally without drugs she wanted to wait as long as possible before going to the hospital.
She decided to go in around 10pm, and they decided it was time to stay. I came at 11:30pm and stayed the rest of the time with them. Maegan was strong and calm and amazing. She birthed the way she wanted and her husband was a great birth helper. I loved seeing them work together as a team to bring their baby into the world. Hadley arrived just in time to beat the dawn.

Though Cherie and Preston currently live in the Denver area they came to the beautiful Scott Lake park to do their engagement session. They also brought their adorable St Bernard, Husker to their session. He was a very well behaved guy, and only photobombed us a few times, lol!
We also saw quite a few deer and a whole bunch of turkeys too at their session!
I'm so glad they were able to take some time out of their busy weekend to hang out with me, it was lovely to meet them and I'm thrilled to have gotten to capture them during this wonderful times of their lives, and can't wait for their wedding day!

Keali had her bridal session a couple weeks before her wedding. Since we used some heavier pieces of furniture I was very grateful that her Mom came with to help!
Keali's dress has such a beautiful and unique back so we wanted to be sure to feature it. I love how her shoulder tattoo looks with her dress, doesn't Keali look fabulous?!
A few days before Darcy and Jon's wedding, Darcy and her Mom came to do a bridal session! A bridal session is a Southern tradition where the bride gets beautiful portraits and you get to see if there's any adjustments to your dress you need to make before your wedding day.
Darcy was my very first bridal session and I'm so glad she let me do them! She is gorgeous!
Keali and Jason had a super cute super hero themed wedding last month. Their wedding was held at Southwind golf course and country club in Garden City, KS. Their fabulous cake was by Loving's Cake and one layer was white velvet, which I'd never heard of before but can highly recommend! Their wedding was full of fun and I'm so glad I got to be there!
Michael's Mom contacted me for his Senior session and mentioned that Michael is on the drum line at his school and wanted to do some pictures with his drums. I'd never done pictures with drums before so it was great to do something new! And happily he liked the pictures :)
When the storm started to come in at the very beginning of Michael's session I was a little worried, photography is about light after all! But the storm held off until just after we finished shooting and though we saw some lightening we weren't able to get any in his shots, which was a little disappointing. But the clouds made a fantastic backdrop for us!

Sydney plays volleyball and throws javelin, pretty cool right? So we started her session at the track! We got to go a couple places after that and her sisters who play volleyball too jumped in for a few shots.

I was a little nervous for Maria's session. She wanted strictly downtown, and for whatever reason, I haven't really been inspired by downtown lately. But I'm so glad that's what she wanted because it pushed me to be better and I think we got some fabulous images of this beautiful girl!
Finally, here's the rest of Darcy and Jon's wedding! From first look to the receptions, they really had a fun group and lots of dancers at their wedding which is always so fun to capture.
Congrats again Darcy and Jon! I hope for many, many years of happiness together!
Darcy and Jon are such a laid back and fun couple. They had the best weather for their wedding day, we were worried it would be hot in June but it really was nice!
The girls got their hair done at Legends Salon in downtown Garden. Then everyone went back to the Clarion hotel to finish getting ready. Jon gave Darcy a beautiful pearl necklace for her wedding gift, which she loved!
Darcy's dress was a beautiful lace gown with a beaded bodice. I loved the custom hanger she'd had made for their wedding day!

While I was photographing the girls, my second shooter Trish got to hang out with the boys, who were pretty relaxed!
I loved Jensen's session! She definitely pushed me to try some new things, I've never photographed someone in a bowling alley before and showing off her art with her was new for me too.
Are you ready for a whole lot of Jensen? I hope so!

Chris and Angela had their reception at Southwind Golf club. They were kind enough to let us borrow golf carts so we could go around the course and take pictures!
The cake was beautiful and delicious! I know I look forward to wedding cake all day, lol! Chris loves transformers so Angela had Loving's Cakes put his favorite transformer in the bottom of the cake.
Then came dancing!
Trish captured the bouquet beautifully! I'm so thankful to have her!
And they're off! Congrats a million times Chris and Angela! I'm so very glad I got to meet you both and to capture so many beautiful moments in your day!
Chris and Angela were married in the same church Angela's parents were married in. Isn't that wonderful?! What a beautiful tribute to her family.
My wonderful second shooter Trish was getting shots from the back of the church and captured the kiss perfectly! There were more tears and laughter during Angela and Chris's ceremony, which even included the ringing of a cow bell after the kiss, lol!
Angela's cousin Laurie Ulrich made the bouquets which were just gorgeous!
We did formal pictures both before and after the ceremony so Chris and Angela could wait to see each other until their ceremony.

Angela had a special gift for her new daughter and wanted to give it to her privately. There were tears all around!
Then came the ceremony!
I'm so thrilled to have been able to capture Chris and Angela's wedding! Their love for each other shone through the entire day. I have so many pictures I wanted to share that this will a 4 part series!
Angela and her girls got their hair done at The Room salon in Garden City. Angela brought a Yankee Candle in the wedding day scent because she said if she ever got married, she'd use the candle on her wedding day. Pretty fab right?!
After hair the ladies got dressed back at the Church of the Brethren in Garden City. I'd been over in the area a bunch of times and never noticed it. I don't know how I missed it, it's so pretty!
After everyone was dressed came a special time that had everyone in the room in tears!
Sara's Senior Session was so fun! She has a great bubbly personality and a kind spirit. Her Mom and her older sister came to her session so of course we had to sneak in a couple images of them too. I so enjoyed meeting Sara and her family!
Though Ashley and Alan live in Great Bend they were kind enough to come to Garden City for their session. I really enjoyed getting to know them both a little better and can't wait for their October wedding!
